Today’s Before & After reveal started as a new build vacation property for our clients, a lovely couple from Calgary.
We came into the project after their home had been built and finished. If you aren’t familiar with new builds, it’s worth mentioning that builders will often have you make selections quickly—in one day even. (Gasp, you should! This normally takes us weeks.)
This was the case for our clients, and after it all came to life, well, there were a few regrets… which is why they called us in!
• Transform the backsplash from blah to fun and creative
• Get some lighting with personality in there
• Maximise privacy (their home sits along a public path)
• Introduce a clean, simple and practical design
• Create elegant (though not fragile) aesthetic throughout
After we provided the couple with two options, our clients chose this monochromatic blue scheme—which I confess, we also loved. The palette is cool and refreshing yet made warmer and more welcoming with earthy browns.
And then it was time to bring this space to life…
BEFORE & AFTER: LIVING ROOM
A crisp and balanced palette… not to mention a cosy sofa.
Drapery add height to the room while leather ottomans (instead of tall chairs) keep it feeling spacious and open.
Cohesive design allows the living room to feel like a unique space and yet flow effortlessly into the dining room.
BEFORE & AFTER: DINING ROOM
There’s that creative light fixture our clients had been imagining!
Simple, stylish seating. Thin, elegant marble table. Mirror to make the space feel larger. A recipe for family memories.
Cozy coffee and/or reading nook = simple luxury.
BEFORE & AFTER: KITCHEN
Fabulous pendants and a soothing backsplash of mosaic penny tiles.
Flows perfectly into the rest of the space.
Let’s take one last look at the whole space…
Timeless character, refreshing yet soothing color, and much more elegant and spacious!
The best design projects are the ones that make our clients feel luxuriously at home and living life exactly how they want to live.
That was the case for this project, and I’m happy to share that our clients will be making it their permanent home in the not-too-distant future. Doesn’t that just warm the heart?
